1. Fratianno is referring to the October 1977 murder of Richard Schwartz, Meyer Lansky’s stepson. Schwartz was gunned down in broad daylight outside his restaurant in south Florida, apparently because he had murdered Craig Teriaca four months before. Teriaca, the son of an organized crime figure, died in what seems to have been a drunken argument with Schwartz, not in an organized crime hit. Schwartz’s relationship to Lansky did not protect him from being murdered in revenge.
